What would you say if 10 of the top 26 pharmaceutical companies had been telling you bold faced lies about the drugs they sell you? Would you be upset? Irritated? Maybe on a good day, bemused? According to 2 papers published by one of the most prestigious medical journals – The New England Journal of Medicine – even seemingly-astronomical fines aren’t keeping Big Pharma honest.
In just the past several years, this industry has been fined more than $11 billion dollars for putting people’s health in serious detriment – but to no avail. A leopard really doesn’t change its spots.
When GlaxoSmithKline was fined $2 billion, do you think it made them change their ways? They kept right on bribing doctors and their families with VIP tickets to see Madonna in concert or fully-paid vacations to tropical getaways like Hawaii in order to get them to prescribe their drugs. Prosecutors said ‘safety took a backseat to profit.’ However, is a measly $2 billion really much more than a slap on the wrist to a company who enjoys billions in sales annually, with profits that have more than tripled in just the past three years?
Proteus Digital Health which recently changed their name from Proteus Biomedical has been given approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to dose you with a micro-chipped pill. The company has been working with the FDA since 2008, at its own admission, to ‘determine the regulatory pathway for this new technology.’ Just weeks ago, this ‘technology’ application was processed ‘in accordance with the de novo provisions of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act for low-risk devices that have no predicate on the market.’
While these initial observances of the micro-chip scanning pill seem fairly benign, there are people with concerns that these micro-chips will be used for more nefarious reasons.
While swallowing a micro-chip-filled pill which is approximately the size of a grain of rice may have no physical risk (though this is obviously debatable since the body usually tries to purge anything that doesn’t belong in it), it certainly brings up important ethical questions about the right to privacy and the valid concern that this precedent setting allowance by the FDA will allow other micro-chipped ‘medicines’ to be used to control the masses.
On June 24, 2013, the US Supreme court ruled that generic pharmaceuticals, something that more than 80% of American’s on prescription drugs take daily, are now exempt from lawsuits.
In a 5-4 ruling, the USSC decided against a $21-million jury verdict won by Karen Bartlett, a New Hampshire woman who suffered horrible skin burns over most of her body and was nearly blinded after taking a pill to relieve shoulder pain. This verdict essentially means that if an individual is prescribed medications that are of a generic brand, and become harmed by the drugs side-effects, that the individual will not legally be allowed to sue the manufacturer for damages.
The court majority conceded that the woman’s plight was tragic. But the justices said the Food and Drug Administration had approved the drug sulindac for sale and that federal approval trumped a state’s consumer-protection laws, under which she had sued.
“You go to the pharmacy, and in most states they substitute a generic drug for the name-brand drug because it’s cheaper. And when they do that, they wipe out your rights,” said Arthur Bryant, executive director of public interest law firm Public Justice.
The ruling creates confusion among pharmaceutical laws, when the Supreme court ruled in 2009 that individuals hurt by prescription drugs could indeed sue the manufacturer for damages. It seems as though what separates these two cases is generic brands vs. brand name medications. Under the new ruling, brand name prescriptions are the only ones up for lawsuits if the patient experiences negative side-effects.
The industry of modern psychiatry has officially gone insane. Virtually every emotion experienced by a human being -- sadness, grief, anxiety, frustration, impatience, excitement -- is now being classified as a "mental disorder" demanding chemical treatment (with prescription medications, of course).
The new, upcoming DSM-5 "psychiatry bible," expected to be released in a few months, has transformed itself from a medical reference manual to a testament to the insanity of the industry itself.
"Mental disorders" named in the DSM-5 include "General Anxiety Disorder" or GAD for short. GAD can be diagnosed in a person who feels a little anxious doing something like, say, talking to a psychiatrist. Thus, the mere act of a psychiatrist engaging in the possibility of making a diagnoses causes the "symptoms" of that diagnoses to magically appear.
This is called quack science and circular reasoning, yet it's indicative of the entire industry of psychiatry which has become such a laughing stock among scientific circles that even the science skeptics are starting to turn their backs in disgust. Psychiatry is no more "scientific" than astrology or palm reading, yet its practitioners call themselves "doctors" of psychiatry in order to try to make quackery sound credible.
According to U.S. government statistics, you are 6200% more likely to be killed by your doctor than by a homicidal shooter. This is the topic of our new video that's just been released on YouTube and TV.NaturalNews.com. (Links below.)
This mini-documentary by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, is based on U.S. government statistics from the Centers for Disease Control, combined with doctor-caused deaths published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
These data show that FDA-approved prescription drugs kill 290 Americans every single day, meaning that for mass shootings to approach that number, you'd have to see a Colorado Batman movie massacre take place EVERY HOUR of every day, 365 days a year.
Or, you'd have to see a jumbo jet airliner with hundreds of passengers crash into the ground every single day in America. That's how dangerous doctors and FDA-approved prescription medications really are.
Those of us who have long been describing the pharmaceutical industry as a “criminal racket” over the last few years have been wholly vindicated by recent news. Drug and vaccine manufacturer Merck was caught red-handed by two of its own scientists faking vaccine efficacy data by spiking blood samples with animal antibodies. GlaxoSmithKline has just been fined a whopping $3 billion for bribing doctors, lying to the FDA, hiding clinical trial data and fraudulent marketing. Pfizer, meanwhile has been sued by the nation’s pharmacy retailers for what is alleged as an “overarching anticompetitive scheme” to keep generic cholesterol drugs off the market and thereby boost its own profits.
The picture that’s emerging is one of a criminal drug industry that has turned to mafia tactics in the absence of any real science that would prove their products to be safe or effective. The emergence of this extraordinary evidence of bribery, scientific fraud, lying to regulators and monopolistic practices that harm consumers is also making all those doctors and “skeptics” who defended Big Pharma and vaccines eat their words.
To defend Big Pharma today is to defend a cabal of criminal corporations that have proven they will do anything — absolutely anything — to keep their profits rolling in. It makes no difference who they have to bribe, what studies they have to falsify, or who has to be threatened into silence. They will stop at nothing to expand their profit base, even if it means harming (or killing) countless innocents.
Let’s take a look at recent revelations:
GlaxoSmithKline pleads guilty to bribery, fraud and other crimes
It what is now the largest criminal fraud settlement ever to come out of the pharmaceutical industry, GlaxoSmithKline has pleaded guilty and agreed to pay $1 billion in criminal fines and $2 billion in civil fines following a nine-year federal investigation into its activities.
The corporate media tells us it will be “six to eight weeks” before we know for sure how Whitney Houston died . By then they hope nobody will be paying attention, because it’s already been reported that the singer was killed by a cocktail of pharmaceutical drugs.
The 48-year-old performer was found dead in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday.
“An autopsy was completed on Houston Sunday, but “there will be no cause of death at this time because it is pending toxicology reports,” Ed Winter, assistant chief of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, told CNN.
“Winter declined to release the coroner’s initial finding of cause of death, saying lab results were expected in six to eight weeks.”
However, TMZ reports that Houstton’s family has already been told by L.A. County Coroner officials that “the singer did not die from drowning, but rather from what appears to be a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol.”
No illegal drugs were found in Houston’s hotel room “but prescription drugs were present,” including “various pill bottles”. Despite talk of alcohol playing a role in her death, “There was no evidence that Whitney was drinking alcohol in the room.”
Under the healthcare reform of 2010, the FDA was given the authority to regulate generic versions of genetically engineered (GE) drugs. Furthermore, some genetically engineered drugs may not even receive human or animal testing — it all depends on whether or not the FDA deems it necessary.
The FDA is proposing new guidelines — an ‘abbreviated pathway’ — for generic drug makers to make similar, but not necessarily identical, generic drugs called ‘biosimilars’. The FDA will accept the drug studies from the original GE drug for approval, and will only require animal or human testing if the FDA deems it appropriate. This policy is greatly lacking because the ingredients and amounts of the ingredients may be different. Never mind that GE product testing standards are woefully deficient to begin with, especially regarding long-term organ damage and other dangers. Or that different ingredients may have a negative synergistic effects.
Not everyone has fallen for the grand hoax: 20 million kids worldwide diagnosed with mental disorders, necessitating psychiatric drugs for years or life. Some individuals are speaking out. Yet so many parents, kids and schools have fallen prey to one of the most insidious yet most profitable misinformation campaigns of modern society.
Kids who fidget, get distracted or bored easily, talk too much (or too little), defy rules, are not as obedient as some adults may like or have mood swings, are liable to be tagged with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder or other such ills. In short, what used to be known as typical child and adolescent behavior has been redefined as mental illness.
ADHD is the disorder most commonly assigned to kids (over five million in the U.S.). Statistical studies in the U.S. and other nations show boys are far more likely than girls to be branded with ADHD and prescribed stimulants.
